Donor Walk honors CSU's greatest supporters

September 21, 2012

Supporters, both past and future, who give $1 million or more to CSU will be honored in a sidewalk memorial at the Oval.

CSU honored its most generous supporters by dedicating the Donor Walk, located in the center of the historic Oval.

The Donor Walk, dedicated Friday in a private ceremony, features bricks engraved with the names of every donor who has given $1 million or more to the university. The monument was initiated to celebrate the conclusion of the Campaign for Colorado State, which raised more than $537 million in private funding to support scholarships, faculty and infrastructure.

"This monument to our most generous donors signifies the end of our extremely successful campaign by celebrating our $1 million-plus donors,” said Brett Anderson, vice president for University Advancement. “I hope as students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends travel across the Oval, they stop to read these names and understand how critical private support is to this great university."

Past, present and future

While many of the donors honored made their gifts during the seven-year campaign, the monument will include the names of $1 million donors prior to 2005, and future donors, too.

"We are so grateful for the amazing gifts from these donors,” Anderson said. “They have shown their pride in CSU in outstanding and tangible ways, and their gifts are making a huge difference every day. I look forward to this monument growing as we add more names every year.”
