Binghamton University professor killed in his office by a graduate student

Professor Richard Antoun was killed in his office on Dec. 4, by a student who repeatedly stabbed him, according to police.

Professor Antoun served on a dissertation committee overseeing the suspect, Abdulsalam S. al-Zahrani, who is Saudi. According to classmates and a professor, Zahrani was distressed about not getting financial aid, and was trying to figure out how to finance his dissertation fieldwork in Detroit.
