TILT Grand Opening Sept. 17

The Institute for Learning and Teaching, or TILT, will celebrate its grand opening immediately following the inauguration of Chancellor Joseph B. Blake and President Tony Frank and the annual University Picnic.

The Institute for Learning and Teaching,
or TILT, will celebrate its grand opening on Thursday, Sept. 17 immediately following the inauguration of Chancellor Joseph B. Blake and President Tony Frank and the annual University Picnic.

Located on the northeast side of CSU’s historic Oval, the Institute for Learning and Teaching will offer: 

  • refreshments
  • tours of the building
  • information about its programs

Cam the Ram free photo shoot

From 1-4 p.m., CSU fanatic and spirit-lifting cheerleader, Cam the Ram, will be available for photos. Photos will be available for free download from the TILT website. Visitors can also register for drawings for software and flash drives.

History of the TILT Building

Built in 1927, the TILT Building originally served as the University’s library. In the 1960s, it became home to the Department of Music, Theatre and Dance which, in May, 2008, was relocated to Remington Street and the new University Center for the Arts.

TILT programs

TILT offers programs that promote student learning, faculty development, curricular innovation, and scholarly inquiry into learning and teaching.
 
TILT is also home to the Offices for Undergraduate Research and Artistry, Service-Learning, and Nationally Competitive Scholarships Programs. Its primary partners, the Center for Advising and Student Achievement, or CASA, and the new Transfer Student Center, provide programs focusing on: 

  • advising for undeclared students and students interested in health professions, learning communities, orientation, transition, and outreach
     
  • Essential services for students transferring to CSU from other universities, colleges and community colleges
