The School of the Arts presents La Cenerentola (Cinderella) by Gioachino Rossini, performed in the Griffin Concert Hall, University Center for the Arts.

Opera theatre - La Cenerentola (Cinderella)

La Cenerentola, ossia La bontà in trionfo (Cinderella, or Goodness Triumphant), was composed in 1817 when Gioachino Rossini was just 25 years old, and is considered one of his finest vocal compositions. Come see Cinderella in a whole new light with special themes for each performance:

  • An Opening Night Gala
  • Prospective Student Night with Talk-back
  • Café Vino Dinner Package Night
  • A Music Education Advocacy day complete with a Pre-Matinee Tea with Cinderella herself

Book drive benefits Invisible Children Biggest Book Drive

A book drive takes place each night, and the drive will benefit Invisible Children, a non-profit that provides resources to children of Northern Uganda. The book drive matches the theme of storybooks, which is paralleled by the stage design. In addition, each night the donated books will be placed on the bookshelf of the set.

Performance dates

  • Feb. 27, 28, and March 6 - Enjoy a special menu and dinner package developed by Cafe Vino exclusively for CSU Opera Theatre.
  • Feb. 27 - Opening Night Gala and Silent Auction Fundraiser - bid on donated items displayed in the Griffin Lobby prior to the performance and at intermission.
  • Feb. 28 - Prospective Student Night and Talk-Back - enjoy a post-performance discussion led by the director, Tiffany Blake joined by the La Cenerentola performers.
  • March 6 - Music Education Advocacy Presentation and Tea - enjoy a 1 p.m. pre-performance presentation by CSU Opera Theatre and Opera Fort Collins director Todd Queen joined by OFC Apprentice Artists. Join Cinderella and the Prince for tea and cookies in the Griffin Lobby.


Tickets are $9 for CSU students, $20 for the public, and free for youth under 12 with paying adult.
