Teaching fundamentals of Classical Ballet Aug. 9-13

Carol Roderick, assistant professor of ballet at Colorado State University, will teach a five-day course on the fundamentals of classical ballet in the first year of training.

The CSU Dance Teachers Institute presents Teaching Fundamentals of Classical Ballet: The First Year of Training, taught by Carol Roderick, assistant professor of ballet at CSU.

The workshops include:

  • A step-by-step study of the Syllabus Daily Technique Class for Teachers
  • Student master classes
  • Lectures
  • Films
  • Extensive course materials

CSU credit is available (please inquire). All sessions will be held in the beautiful world-class University Center for the Arts at Colorado State University.

Tuition is $500 and includes course material and all sessions. The cost is $200 for CSU dance majors.  Daily and group rates available – please inquire.

About Carol Roderick

Assistant Professor of Ballet at Colorado State University: Carol Roderick has taught, coached, and trained teachers and dancers for professional companies, universities, and prestigious schools in the United States, Canada, Japan and Europe.

She received her early training in Boston, and later at Butler and Indiana Universities. Her formal pedagogical training was received from the late Jürgen Schneider (Bolshoi Ballet, Stuttgart Ballet, American Ballet Theatre) and Gabriela Komleva (Kirov/Maryinsky Ballet).

She was prinicipal teacher at AIS International Ballet in Japan, and a member of the professional division faculties of Boston Ballet School and The Royal Winnipeg Ballet School.
