Grill the Buffs Pep Rally Sept. 3

September 3, 2010

As the day of the Rocky Mountain Showdown draws near, the Associated Students of Colorado State University hold their annual pep rally to send the Rams off right and pump up the students for one of the biggest games in all of Colorado.

"The biggest game in Colorado"

Last year, the CSU Rams beat the CU Buffaloes 23-17. Maybe it did have something to do with those burgers, eh?

The Denver Broncos games have nothing on The Showdown.

Kevin Winn, an event planner for the Associated Students of Colorado State University, says The Rocky Mountain Showdown is "the biggest football game in all of Colorado." Therefore, the biggest game should have an equally extravagant pep rally.

ASCSU will be hosting the annual "Grill the Buffs" on Friday, Sept. 3, with speakers starting at 10:55 a.m. on the Lory Student Center Plaza.

This annual event allows students the opportunity to get pumped up for the Showdown while munching on buffalo burgers. ASCSU will begin serving over 2,000 burgers at 11:20 a.m. and will continue until they run out.

Speakers included in this year's pep rally are:
  • Vice President for Student Affairs Blanche Hughes
  • ASCSU President Cooper Anderson
  • ASCSU Vice President Jennifer Babos
  • CSU Football captains
  • Knights of the Green and Gold

Cam takes some time to unwind by playing a little Frisbee with the students at last year's Grill the Buffs rally.

Schedule of events:

  • 9 a.m.- 10:30 a.m. KCSU
  • 10:30 a.m.-11 a.m. Pep Band
  • 10:55 a.m.-11:20 a.m. Speakers
