Elvira Kurt will make you laugh

Her style is to wow the audience first with "regular" -material about her disapproving Hungarian mother. Then, once the audience thinks they have her figured out, she comes out as lesbian, feigning surprise that they'd stop laughing for a moment or two. "They end up loving it, that they were fooled," she says.

ASAP’s next performer, Elvira Kurt, will perform her stand-up containing jokes about celebrity culture.

About the performer

A Toronto native and alumna of Second City, Elvira Kurt is an accomplished comedian who hosts her own TV program in Canada, has starred in an acclaimed Comedy Central half-hour special, has earned multiple nominations as College Comedian Of The Year, and has countless other TV credits as a comic, actress, host, writer--often on gay-lesbian shows.

In the United States, her comedy specials have aired on Comedy Central, HBO and Showtime, and now Elvira Kurt will be adding Colorado State University to her list.

ASAP will be collaborating with the GLBTSS office on the event as a celebration of the 10th anniversary for the GLBTSS advocacy office.
