Engineering Exploration Day Oct. 3

September 24, 2009
By Melinda Swenson

High school students - this is for you! Make plans to attend Colorado State's Engineering Exploration Day. Visit CSU engineering labs, see project demos, visit with engineering faculty members, and learn about undergraduate study and life at CSU. It's free and open to the public. Registration closes on Monday, Sept. 28.

Saturday, Oct. 3
8:30 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Lory Student Center and
Engineering Building

Imagine a safe for the home that's solar powered, secure, and that provides easy, errorless access by sensing your bio-signature when you want to open it.
Imagine a transmitter that a speaker or an actor could wear that would cause a stage light to automatically track them across a stage.

Imagine a wireless handicapped door that opens without human interaction when a wheelchair is in close proximity and when a person with a handicap wants it to open.

Real solutions for real problems

These are just a few of the design projects that teams of students at Colorado State University have developed. Would you like to be a part of such a team, thinking of ways to improve technology and the quality of people's lives?

If your answer is "Yes!" then you will want to check out Engineering Exploration Days at Colorado State next Saturday, Oct. 3.  The registration deadline for this event is Monday, Sept. 28.

High school students, parents, and community invited

High school students, their parents and community members are invited to learn about engineering majors and careers at Colorado State University’s Engineering Exploration Day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3.
