The Gellar Center for Spiritual Development at Colorado State is hosting the Zikr Dance Ensemble on May 4 in the Student Center Theatre. The group's performances are often sold out, so be sure to inquire about tickets soon!

Mysteries, Rites and Revelations

Denver’s Zikr Dance Ensemble will return to the Lory Student Center for one night only, Wednesday, May 4 at 7 p.m., to present “Mysteries, Rites and Revelations,” a full evening of work that is based on:

  • Transcendent dance rituals from many different ancient world cultures throughout history; and
  • Original and contemporary dance/theatre realizations.

For its 2011 Spring season, the company will feature five new works including pieces that are based on:

  • Catholic monastic ritual,
  • Tibetan sacred dance,
  • East Indian Bharatanatyam,
  • An authentic Sufi Zikr, and
  • A contemporay ballet by Artistic Director David Taylor, based on G.I. Gurdjieff's Third Force teachings.

  • Tickets in advance - $15/adults; $10/students and seniors
  • Tickets at door - $20/adults; $15/students and seniors
  • Tickets are free to all CSU students with an ID
