POW/MIA ceremony

September 26, 2012

Air Force ROTC is holding its annual Prisoner of War (POW) and Missing in Action (MIA) ceremony.

Thursday, September 27
3:45-5 p.m.
Monfort Quad

Air Force ROTC is holding its annual Prisoner of War (POW) and Missing in Action (MIA) ceremony on the Monfort Quadrangle between the Plant Sciences and Animal Sciences building.

Twenty-one gun salute

This ceremony, which will last between one and two hours, will feature a guest speaker, a 21-gun salute and the start of the 24-hour vigil.

This is a tradition that is carried on every year in which there is a cadet placed in a cage (for 1-hour shifts) and another cadet that guards it. This symbolizes our dedication and awareness to our country's POW/MIA, and that we will not forget about them.

All are welcome to this free event.

Wear a red shirt and remember our troops

Friday, September 29 is Red Shirt Friday. Wear a red shirt to show your support for the men and women serving our nation at war.
