Earth Day Celebration & Student Sustainability Fair

April 21, 2009

This year's Earth Day celebration will feature live music performances, green booths and displays, and for the first time ever a Student Sustainability Fair. The fair is intended to be an educational piece for students of every demographic to highlight actions that can be taken towards living a more sustainable lifestyle.

"It's going to be an awesome day for us all to learn about what's available on our campus and in our community to live more sustainable lifestyles and lower our carbon footprints," said Brittany Gobel, a senior environmental communications major and president of the Coalition for a Sustainable Student Fair.

This year the event will be bigger and better than previous years, said Gobel. "This event, this year, is organized by students, for students. We're making a statement as a student body about what we can do as a student body."
