TriMedia Film Festival Sept. 10-12

September 7, 2010

The 5th annual TriMedia Film Festival, Sept. 10-12, is an annual event of national stature that celebrates film, television, and theatre arts -- integrating emerging and established artists in all categories.

The TriMedia Film Festival has an innovative “tri-media” focus featuring independent film, TV pilots/specials, and live theatre, with a PG-13 or equivalent rating limit.

Kick off Friday evening at LSC

The weekend will kick off Friday evening at the Lory Student Center Theatre with the film, "For the Sake of the Song." The film is a documentary about Anderson Fair Retail Restaurant, Houston’s legendary music venue that has fostered and nurtured some of the most important musical performers and songwriters in America.

The film’s producer, Jim Barham, and one of the film’s featured musicians, Vince Bell, will appear on stage following the 7:30 p.m. screening of the film.

Producer of "Lost" a participant

Ra’uf Glasgow, Emmy-award winning producer of the popular TV series “Lost,” will be part of the festival’s Film/TV/Theater Industry Professionals Panel on Saturday afternoon. During the panel, audience members will have an opportunity to ask questions and discuss past and future projects with panelists.

Entries from around the world

The festival will screen and exhibit entries from all over the world. They encourage local filmmakers and writers by showcasing their work, and exhibit the winning entries from area student film festivals.

Unites filmmakers, writers, actors

The festival will create a competitive cultural and educational festival for Fort Collins that unites filmmakers, writers, and actors with film, TV, and theatre enthusiasts, and while bringing this terrific location to the attention of national production industry representatives.

The festival is held every September, the weekend after Labor Day, in multiple venues, including the campus Lory Student Center Theater.

Sponsored in part by CSU's National Society of Collegiate Scholars. The TriMedia Film Festival is an annual event organized by Horsetooth Productions, a local education nonprofit, with support from the Fort Collins Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Fort Collins Downtown Business Association.
