Nominate your favorite teacher/professor for Best Teacher

December 1, 2010

Have you had a CSU teacher or professor who has made an impact on your life? Give them the recognition they deserve by nominating them for the 2011 Best Teacher Awards.

2011 Best Teacher Awards

The Colorado State University Alumni Association and its affiliate student group, the Student Alumni Connection, recognize outstanding Colorado State University educators each year with Best Teacher Awards.

The teachers are nominated by students and alumni and are selected by a committee comprised of members of the Alumni Association Board of Directors and Student Alumni Connection Leadership Council.

Recipients and nominees are recognized at the Best Teacher Awards Dinner on April 7, 2011.

Tips for a quality nomination

Nominating a teacher is easy and can be done online at this link. Nominations are due by Feb. 4, 2011 at 5 p.m. Here's some tips for composing a quality nomination:

  • Express yourself - Practice those CO150 skills and show the committee (with evidence!) how and what you’ve learned from your teacher. The quality of nominations will take precedence over the quantity of nominations for a particular teacher/professor.
  • Details, details, details! - Describe how your teacher has impacted your learning, your classmates’ learning, and the CSU or Fort Collins community at large. Incomplete and/or vague nominations will not be considered.
  • Get a friend to help - Ask your classmates to submit a nomination for your best teacher – if you’ve felt an impact, chances are others have too.
  • Past Best Teacher Award recipients are not eligible See a list of past recipients.
  • Nominated teacher/professor must be a current Colorado State University faculty/staff member
