CU-Boulder cracking down on campus dumpster divers

As students leave the residence halls at the University of Colorado, non-students from across Boulder descend on the dumpsters parked temporarily around campus to dig for such cast-off gems as televisions, couches, clothes, lamps and even the occasional computer.

This year, CU police are cracking down on dumpster divers by posting "no trespassing" signs on the trash bins for the first time.

The signs also warn "anyone entering into or remaining inside the dumpster is subject to arrest and criminal prosecution."
