Credit-card offers on campus face new restrictions in February 2010

The Credit Card Accountability Responsibility and Disclosure Act of 2009 - better known as the Credit CARD Act - prohibits marketing of cards on campuses and restricts the use of high-pressure giveaways such as T-shirts or electronic gear for filling out applications.

The new law that goes into effect in late February, says people under age 21 must either be able to prove they have the financial resources to pay their debt - essentially a note from their bank or employer - or have a co-signer over age 21.
