Working at CSU

Goodridge new Grad School associate dean

January 17, 2013

Larry Goodridge will focus on graduate student recruitment, retention, and graduation across campus.

Lawrence (Larry) Goodridge is the newly appointed Associate Dean of the Graduate School at Colorado State University.

Goodridge has been a faculty member at Colorado State since 2006. He holds a doctorate in Food Science from the University of Guelph in Canada, and has developed a robust research program in food safety within the Department of Animal Sciences. In addition to being an internationally recognized researcher for his work in this area, Goodridge recently received the 2012 Charles N. Shepardson Meritorious Teaching Award from the College of Agricultural Sciences at CSU.

Enhance graduate education

Goodridge's initial focus in the Graduate School will be to develop strategies that promote graduate student recruitment, retention, and graduation across the campus. He will also explore methods to enhance graduate student education through access to professional development activities geared to prepare graduates for the next step of their careers.

“Goodridge has been an asset to the Graduate School since his arrival on campus. His activities have been instrumental in the recruitment and retention of diverse students in our NSF Alliance for Graduate Education and the Professoriate (AGEP) Program. As the Associate Dean, we will take advantage of his expertise in this area to create new diversity initiatives,” said Jodie Hanzlik, Dean of the Graduate School.
