Volunteers needed for physiology research

The Human Performance/Clinical Research Laboratory in the Department of Health and Exercise Science at CSU is looking for volunteers to participate in physiology studies.

Participants must be...

  • non-smokers
  • not regular exercisers (e.g., exercise less than 3 times per week)
  • between 19 and 85 years of age; and
  • not using prescribed medication (contraception is permitted)

Benefits of participation may include:

  • a supervised program of exercise
  • measurement of maximal oxygen consumption (VO2 max)
  • quantification of resting metabolic rate
  • determination of body composition (whole-body X-ray)
  • analysis of blood for concentrations of glucose and insulin
  • dietary supplements (natural plant derivatives)

Financial reimbursement is available.

All studies have been approved by the CSU Institutional Review Board.
