CPC Education Assistance Award deadline extended

Updated October 2, 2013

The deadline for applications to the Education Assistance Award has been extended to Oct. 15.

Are you a Colorado State University state classified employee who is taking a class or pursuing additional education to further your career at CSU? Then you may qualify for a scholarship from the Classified Personnel Council.

The Classified Personnel Council offers employee scholarship awards to assist classified employees seeking to move ahead in their jobs or careers.

Awards are made to employees based on need. Employees fill out an application for the award, and the deadline this year has been extended to 5 p.m. Oct. 15 from the original deadline of 5 p.m. Sept. 30.

Five scholarship awards of $500 each are given twice a year.

Employees may use this money to meet any needs associated with furthering their education, including tuition, books, child care expenses, gas for traveling to class, etc.

Employees enrolled in many types of courses such as trade courses (welding, electrical, etc), additional certification, college courses at schools other than CSU, and on-line courses are eligible to apply for the award.

Funds will be available to award recipients as soon as enrollment is verified any time during 2013.

Application forms may be viewed and downloaded from the Classified Personnel Council website under “Awards” by clicking on “Educational Assistance” or email Diane Hellbusch for an application.

Application deadline for Fall 2013 applications is October 15, 2013. All information must be received by 5 p.m. on the application deadline.
