World Unity Fair: New feel, new location

October 22, 2013

The first international fair at Colorado State took place in 1951 when Mother Teresa was working in Calcutta, India; the first humans reached the summit of Mount Everest; Cambodia and Laos gained independence; Egypt declared itself a republic; the first James Bond novel was about to be published; and rock-and-roll was sweeping Great Britain and the U.S.

Saturday, November 2
3-9 p.m.
University Center for the Arts
1400 Remington Street

The 60th Annual World Unity Fair is happening in a new location this year -- the University Center for the Arts!

In 1951, the Cosmopolitan Club of Colorado State University organized the first “International Days” celebration with a banquet and exhibit.

"International Days" soon grew to be one of the biggest CSU events of the year, with panel discussions, foreign dignitaries, lectures, displays, a talent show, and the “Cosmo Dinner Dance.”

This year we celebrate our diamond anniversary (our 60th year). The fair stays true to its traditions and character, even as it faces new beginnings.

Cultural displays, talent show

True to its roots, the 60th Annual World Unity Fair will feature cultural displays from over 23 participating CSU clubs.

The Youth Tour, from 3-5 p.m., will include children’s activities from around the world.

The World Talent Show, 7:30-9:30 p.m., will showcase of international dance, song, dress and heritage.

The fair will offer ethnic appetizers and cultural merchandise for sale alongside the many free activities, booths, and entertainment.

Come experience the rewards of cultural diversity and intercultural understanding and enjoy this historic evening.
