17th consecutive NCAA appearance

The Rams will be making their 17th consecutive NCAA appearance, 15 of which have come under the leadership of coach Tom Hilbert, who was named the Mountain West Conference’s coach of the year after leading the Rams to their 17th consecutive season with at least 20 victories.

The tournament bracket was announced Sunday by the NCAA.

Senior outside hitter Katelyn Steffan will lead the Rams. Steffan was named player of the year in the MWC and was most valuable player of the MWC Tournament. All-league performers Megan Plourde, Dana Cranston and Brieon Page also are coming off outstanding seasons, as is setter Deedra Foss, who was named the MWC’s newcomer of the year.

The Rams have won at least one NCAA Tournament match each of the past four years, advancing to the Sweet 16 in 2009.
