CSU Day at the Larimer County Fair

In addition to the usual fun to be had at the Larimer County Fair, CSU Day (August 4) is offering discounted tickets to the Gnarly Barley Brew Fest. Tickets for the carnival and brew fest must be purchased in advance by Friday, July 27 to receive the CSU discount.

On Saturday, August 4, tethered, hot air balloon rides will be offered from 8-10 a.m. near the Gate 1 entrance.Saturday, Aug. 4

This year, plan your visit to the Larimer County Fair and Rodeo for CSU Day on Saturday, Aug. 4 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.  The Larimer County Fairgrounds are located at The Ranch, 5280 Arena Circle Loveland, Colo.

Cotton candy, funnel cake, corn dogs, carnival rides, live music, a kid's fishing tank, balloon rally, Splash Dog show, judging events, horses, goats, pigs, cows, poultry, rabbits, and rodeo -- all these come to mind when you mention the Larimer County Fair and Rodeo.

Alumni Association events

Between 11 a.m. and noon, join us at the Ram Alumni Association tent (north side across from the Round-up Outdoor Area) to:  

  • Larimer County Youth Livestock Sale 2009 Goose Champion Madessa Hoffer-Dye. Image courtesy of Larimer 4-H.have pictures taken with CAM the Ram,
  • try your hand at the Inflatable Football Toss,
  • visit with Colorado State, and
  • receive giveaways.

Carnival tickets

  • One day carnival wristband - $20 Alumni Association members, $22 non-members (regularly $25)
  • Carnival hours are noon to midnight on Saturday.

Gnarly Barley Brew Fest

The Gnarly Barley Brew Festival is an outdoor event that features food, live music, a homebrew competition, and fireworks. Learn about great local breweries and their products. Some tented seating is available. You are also welcome to bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on.

  • Gnarly Barley Brew Fest (1-6 p.m.) - $14 Alumni Association members, $15 non- members. (regularly $17 in advance and $20 the day of)
  • Gnarly Barley Brew Fest ticket includes 7 tokens and mug (1 token good for 1 - 4 oz pour; additional tokens can be purchased the day of for $1 each).

Ticket pick-up information

A voucher for your wrist band will be left at the Box Office Will Call (August 1-3). After that, it will be at the Carnival Office. You'll then take your voucher to the ticket booths to get a wrist band. A photo ID is needed.

Please let us know if someone other than the purchaser will be picking up the vouchers (i.e. your children), so we can pass that info along to the fair.

The Larimer County Fair and Rodeo is located at The Ranch, directly adjacent to I-25, just north of Highway 34, in Loveland, Colorado. College of Agricultural Sciences

Be sure to visit CSU's College of Agricultural Sciences' booth at the Fair. The College is caretaker of CAM the Ram and students studying in the college serve as Ram Handlers.

For the first time, student volunteers will run the College of Agricultural Sciences’ trademark Ag Adventure program, which uses interactive exhibits to teach kids and adults about the sources of our food and fiber. Participants will learn about agricultural issues including food safety, soil ecology and other intricacies of modern food production. Ag Adventure exhibits will be staged for the entire run of the fair.
