'The Life of a Migrant Farm Worker'

The Accion Empowerment Speaker Series is part of the Accion mission to focus on Hispanic/Latino interests in our community. On June 24 and 25, author Chuck Solano will share the story of his life as a migrant farm worker, soldier, self-educated student, and barber shop owner.

The story of a full life

Acción invites you to a presentation and open-discussion with Carmel (Chuck) Solano, author of End of the Row, a historical and autobiographical look at Chuck’s life as a native migrant worker who grew up in Fort Collins, Colo.

Solano has a full life story to share with any and all who have an interest in knowing more about what it was like, growing up in Fort Collins, and the changes that he’s seen over the past 73 years—everything from him being migrant worker to more than 40 years of cutting hair in his home town.

What is Acción?

Acción is an ad hoc organization of CSU faculty and staff that focuses on Hispanic/Latino interests in our community. It has been active on the CSU campus since 1998.

The mission of Acción is to provide awareness and address issues that impact the aspirations and achievements of the Colorado State University Hispanic/Latino community.
