David Alan Kinkaid

David Alan Kinkaid, 63, of Fort Collins passed away on Dec. 19.

He was born in Wichita, Kan., on July 2, 1949, to Ina Mae and Jack Kinkaid. He graduated from Newton High School in Newton, Kan., and then attended Southwestern College in Winfield, Kan., where he earned his B.S.

After getting his degree, David worked as the Public Health Department director in Harvey County, Kan. He then moved to Fort Collins and worked for the Larimer County Health Department. David served as an environmental health officer at Colorado State University where he fulfilled his true calling for more than 30 years.

He is survived by his mother, Ina Mae Kinkaid (Newton, Kan.), his wife, Cathy Busch-Kinkaid (Ft. Collins), his sons Bryan Kinkaid (Denver), Michael Busch (Denver), and Nathan Busch (Denver), his daughters-in-law Meredith Chace (Denver), Mindy Busch (Denver) and Marzycielsi Gibriella (Denver) and his granddaughter Micayla Busch.

A celebration of life memorial service is scheduled at 10 a.m.  Jan. 19 at the Fort Collins Senior Center. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Trout Unlimited or the Food Bank for Larimer County. Condolences can be sent to the family at
