Comprehensive supervisory development trainings are open for enrollment

Classes designed to offer new and experienced supervisors concepts, insights, skills and strategies are available to all CSU faculty and staff through mid-August.

These trainings are free, and run from 8 a.m.-noon.

• Creativity and Problem Solving
• Listening and Constructive Feedback

• The Balancing Act, Supervising Student, Hourly and Seasonal Employees
• Behavioral Interviewing
• Facilitation Skills
• Meeting Management
• Time Management

The first class, Stepping Up to Supervision, offered Wednesday, June 3 still has seats available:

Location: Training & Organizational Development Classroom, Room 129 Johnson Hall

Who should attend: Any CSU employee, including new and aspiring supervisors

Description:
Participants will explore numerous issues facing supervisors as they manage relationships with others to accomplish the major management function, which is to "get work done through others."

Supervisors will enhance their effectiveness as they learn communication tools to deal with sensitive issues and learn to get the best from their employees. This is a highly interactive, experiential workshop with emphasis on application of concepts. Participants must be able to attend the full day.
