Community Welcome needs faculty/staff volunteers

July 21, 2010

Faculty and staff are invited to join in welcoming our students back to Colorado State and educating them about local ordinances through the annual Community Welcome event.

Off-Campus Life seeks volunteers

Off Campus Life is looking for faculty and staff volunteers for the Community Welcome event, Wednesday, Aug. 25.

Are you interested in educating our student population about local ordinances and good neighboring behavior?

Teams to visit over 2,000 homes

On the night of Aug. 25, in what has become a local tradition, over one hundred volunteers, including Fort Collins Police Officers, Colorado State University students, CSU and city staff, will visit over 2,000 homes close to campus.

Households will receive our newly redesigned deck of cards that include messages like, "Take the initiative and get to know your neighbors," and "You have a right to party; others have a right to sleep."

Welcome students back to city

In addition to educating students about good neighboring behaviors associated with off-campus living, the event was created to welcome students back to Fort Collins.

Each team stresses the importance for forming positive relationships with those living in close proximity.
