Band featured in the 9News Parade of Lights Dec. 4

November 30, 2009

The Colorado State University Marching Band is the first collegiate marching band invited to participate in Denver's Parade of Lights. Enjoy the holiday sights and sounds of CSU's very own marching band, boasting 240 outstanding student performers, representing every college at CSU.

The 240 student performers in the CSU Marching Band (pictured above during the 2009 Homecoming Parade), make their debut in Denver's Parade of Lights on Friday, Dec. 4.

Lights, cameras, action!

On Friday, Dec. 4 at 8 p.m., the band will perform the spectacular trombone suicides to the main grandstand, and then the entire band leads the annual parade through the streets of downtown Denver where 400,000 happy holiday viewers are expected along the parade route, with another 300,000 viewers watching on TV. The band will be performing live only on Friday, Dec. 4.

Special CSU reception

To commemorate this historic first, CSU is hosting a special reception with great views of the parade. With a view of two legs of the parade, spectators can watch the band and CAM the Ram in the parade.

There will be a free indoor reception in the lobby of 410 17th Street, Denver starting at 6 p.m. Reception will include hot chocolate and cookies and provide a full view of the parade. Although the reception is free, registration is required as space is limited. [Register]

Reserved bleacher seats

CSU has also reserved bleacher seats along 17th and Tremont. It will be like your own private party for the parade. Space is very limited for the bleachers and if you wish to reserve a bleacher seat, it is $10 and registration is required. To make reservations, please visit the
