Working at CSU

CSUAB Employee Recognition Program

November 4, 2008

Beginning in November, the Activities Board will hold monthly university-wide drawings for gifts to be presented to the employees of Colorado State. More than 500 gifts are expected to be distributed during this school year through the month of May.

Forty years is a long time. Buildings rise and fall; colleges and departments are added, renamed, or eliminated entirely; and students come and go by the thousands. Keeping up with the ever-changing landscape of higher education are the faculty and staff, who have the constant task of being innovative, engaging, and noteworthy. And keeping up with them is the Colorado State University Activities Board.

Promoting CSU spirit

Since 1968, the CSU Activities Board has been promoting University spirit and providing a vehicle for employee recognition. However, the Activities Board's 40th Anniversary isn't the only cause for celebration this year. They are also revamping their initiatives.

Beginning in November, the Activities Board will hold monthly university-wide drawings for gifts to be presented to the employees of Colorado State. More than 500 gifts are expected to be distributed during this school year through the month of May.

"The Activities Board is being more proactive this year," says JoAnn Cornell, chair.  "Employees are important all year long - not just for one month.  By spreading recognition throughout the year, the Activities Board hopes to convey how vital faculty and staff are to the University's existence."

Employee monthly drawings and special recognition events

In addition to the monthly drawings, the Activities Board will host special recognitions for departments around the campus, on a rotating basis.  The first recognition was held for all of the employees in the Department of Facilities Management in October.

Entry forms for the drawings have been sent out and should be returned to JoAnn at 1701 Campus Delivery. All Colorado State non-students are eligible to enter, but only one entry per person, per year will be accepted. Please return the form anytime from now through May 1, 2009. Winners will be personally contacted by members of the Activities Board.
