Boyer scholarship reception Nov. 12

The Harriet Patsy Boyer Scholarship is dedicated to increasing opportunities for students to participate in scholarly activities that promote new understanding of women in culture and society. The 2009 scholarship recipients will be honored at the 9th Annual Harriet Patsy Boyer Scholarship reception. Silvia Canetto, Ph.D., from the Department of Psychology, will speak on the correlation between global gender perspectives and women and suicidal behavior.

The Colorado State University Women's Interdisciplinary Studies Program invites you to the 9th Annual Harriet Patsy Boyer Scholarship reception and lecture on Thursday, Nov. 12 from 4-6 p.m., in the Cherokee Park Room and University Club, Lory Student Center.

Silvia Canetto to speak at 4:30 p.m.

This year’s address, “Why Global Gender Perspectives Matter: The Case of Women and Suicidal Behavior” by Silvia Canetto, Ph.D., Department of Psychology, will begin at 4:30 p.m.

What is the Harriet Patsy Boyer Memorial Scholarship?

The Harriet Patsy Boyer Memorial Scholarship Program was established in 2001 to honor the memory of Boyer, who retired as Professor Emerita from the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures in Spring 1977.

The scholarship is dedicated to increasing opportunities for students to participate in scholarly activities that promote new understanding of women in culture and society.

The Women’s Interdisciplinary Studies Program at Colorado State University initiated this annual event to recognize and celebrate the intergenerational contributions of feminist scholars. All faculty, staff, students, and member of the community are welcome to attend.
