Gluten-free breads and desserts

July 12, 2012

'Some really tasty items are on our menu for the gluten-free breads and desserts workshop,' says registered dietician Michelle Milholland. 'For breads, we're going to have a fresh rosemary focaccia bread, and some fabulous cheddar biscuits. For the desserts, we'll be a making a fruit salsa with baked gluten free chips, a gingerbread chocolate cake, and a pear crumble with a quinoa-oat topping.'

This series will feature various aspects of gluten free living and entertaining. Join Michelle Milholland, M.S., R.D. and CSU students for a series of classes that explores gluten free entertaining, easy substitutions, and healthful baking.

The classes in the gluten-free dining series are just about full, but anyone can call or email to get on the waiting list.

"We'll also have the recipe packets available for purchase on our website a few weeks after the final class of the gluten-free dining series is over," Milholland says.

In each class you will learn to make several dishes, and explore ways to make gluten-free cooking more nutritious and convenient. Gluten-free doesn't have to mean expensive, highly processed packaged breads and desserts!

Join us for some yummy baked goods and sweet treats that will be waist and wallet friendly.
