Open enrollment

The Open Enrollment period for calendar year (CY) 2013 is scheduled to begin on Monday, Nov. 5 and close on Tuesday, Nov. 27. As with last year’s Open Enrollment, the process will be paperless - any changes must be processed through the Online Benefits Enrollment System by Tuesday, Nov. 27 at 11:59 pm, MST.

Prior to proceeding with your Open Enrollment elections, you are strongly encouraged to carefully review the Open Enrollment website and Cost Share newsletter for important information about the Open Enrollment process and benefit plan changes. We strongly encourage you to take advantage of this annual opportunity to update your benefits coverage and designate beneficiaries for life insurance.

You must complete the Open Enrollment process if you are:

  • Changing your benefits enrollment options (i.e., plans, pre/post tax status, coverage levels, beneficiaries)
  • Enrolling or continuing participation in a FSA (health or dependent care) in CY 2013
    • Note: Due to changes required under Healthcare Reform in CY 2013, your annual contribution to a Healthcare FSA may not exceed $2,500.
  • Adding or removing a spouse or domestic partner, or a child or children under the age of 26 on your insurance plans (you must provide the social security number of your covered spouse or domestic partner and any children)
  • Changing your Defined Contribution Plan (DCP) retirement company beginning with 2013 contributions

For staff participating in the Defined Contribution Retirement Plan (DCP), please review your fund elections to ensure that they continue to be consistent with your financial goals. Also, review your vendor selection as Open Enrollment is the only time you can change your DCP vendor. You must complete the Open Enrollment process to change the vendor receiving your contributions for the upcoming calendar year.

Open Enrollment benefit elections are completed online through the Human Resources application via the Campus Administrative Portal (CAP), which provides highly secured, password protected access. Once you have logged into the online enrollment system, choose Campus Administrative Portal and log in once more with your eID. Choose CSU Employee Self-Service, which is currently used to access your pay advice and other information, then choose the CSU Benefits link to verify your current benefit elections and to participate in the CY 2013 Open Enrollment process. Follow the instructions on the screen.

If you experience any problems with the system, please contact Human Resources at (970) 491-MyHR (6947).

Free flu shots

We have been successful in partnering with Anthem, the University’s medical plan administrator, to sponsor a free flu shot clinic for Faculty, Administrative Professionals and Other Non-Classified Staff who are enrolled in a University self-funded Anthem medical plan (Green, Gold, or POS). The flu shot clinic occurs on Nov. 6 in LSC Room 224-26 from 9 a.m.–3 p.m. Employees and their spouses, domestic partners and children (age 4 or older) who are enrolled in a CSU Anthem medical plan (Green, Gold and POS) are eligible for a free flu shot at this clinic. A signed consent form will be required to receive a free flu shot. Employees who are not eligible to receive a free flu shot from the University health plan may still participate in the flu shot clinic at a cost of $25 per vaccination. Note: FluMist is not available at the clinic.
